Whenever high quality images are needed, most scientists default reaction is to go to “the confocal”. That is not always be the best choice, but when is it and how do you know? This workshop helps to select the optimal microscope for your imaging experiment and optimize the data acquisition to balance speed, sensitivity and resolution. On top of that, we will cover the most common imaging problems like autofluorescence or channel bleeding, their solutions and important considerations when preparing your samples. Also, we will touch the basic handling, processing and display of imaging data after acquisition, including color palettes for high contrast and accessible to people with impaired vision.

Participants can come afterwards to Kenny Mattonet for practical sessions any time!
