Survival Skills in Flow Cytometry

Overview
Flow Cytometry is one of the most powerful single cell analysis methods used throughout the life sciences and medicine. Utilising Flow Cytometry we can identify and quantify many different parameters from heterogeneous samples, analyse the corresponding state of proliferation or simply detect the expression of fluorescent reporters. We will cover the theory of Flow Cytometry and corroborate this information with practical issues of frequent assays as part of the practical course curriculum.
Audience
The course is designed for researchers with little/no experience in flow cytometry. This course is meant to give survival skills for approaching flow cytometry experiments.
Course Structure
Principles of Flow Cytometry
Quality assessment and instrument validation
Principles and guidelines for experimental design
Staining cells with cell surface antigens
Basic session on analysing data from Flow Cytometers – with and without FlowJo
Learning Objectives
Our goal for this course is to teach the basics of the technology with emphasis on practical work at the instruments.
