Scientific Writing Workshop

THE Scientific Writing Workshop teaches the skills to produce research papers of the highest quality for the world’s top journals.
Participants will learn the writing techniques to plan and construct arguments and the editing skills to refine and polish their work.
A key focus is the structure of good scientific communication. We look at this at the level of sentences, paragraphs, abstracts and entire papers, using examples from a wide range of disciplines.
The course also shows how journals chose the papers they publish and offers tips on dealing with editors at these publications.
We believe that people learn by doing, so each session includes thought-provoking exercises to help participants practice the techniques we teach.
One-to-one feedback with each participant is a unique part of our workshops. All participants must complete an abstract writing exercise ahead of time and the workshop includes detailed face-to-face feedback on this with an experienced instructor.
