Conflict Management in Scientific Teams

Conflicts are part of our professional life. Reasons for conflicts might be: Different work habits or ambitions, different cultural background, fights over resources, scientific visibility (first/senior authorship for instance) just to name a few. It is important, that conflicts do not paralyze a team. Therefore, a team leader should know, when and how to intervene.

Content: Conflict prevention, Conflict escalation levels, Escalation catalysts, According to escalation level, we apply different intervention methods, e.g. non value definition,  problem solving conference Crucial conversations with team members

Method: Participants may bring in their own experience, practical work with participants’ examples

Coach: Anne Scharf, career coach for scientists in CRC, Excellence Clusters, visiting coach  at Harvard Medical School, askom-training.de
